I think this whole story speaks for itself and the need for limited government...

Wow.

I thought the whole thing was nonsense to be honest. We'd hate for people to have their Christmas season interrupted by people hoping they'll be generous with their money. Just one more step in society's crusade to create individual bubbles for everyone where they can live their lives in a vacuum and not so much even by troubled by the presence of someone they don't want around.

The cost? 9 million dollars that Salvation Army won't get to feed the poor this year. I'm writing a letter and not shopping there again, I hope others will do the same. (Boycotts don't matter if you don't let them know you are doing it).

Citizen Smash has this about one of the Marines in Iraq who saved many of his fellow soldiers by shielding them from a grenade blast with his body. I have heard many of these stories in the part in all branches of military service and I don't think they can be told too often. The news will only show the Abu Ghraibs of the military but events like these very often go untold. People should know that they are very honest and self-sacrificing men and women in the Armed Services, and dare I say, in greater proportions then you will find in civilian life.

There has been study after study that indicates a link between breast cancer and abortion, namely that while you may get breast cancer without having an abortion, the odds are much greater if you do have one. It's an invasive and physically traumatic surgery, of course there will be side-effects. There are side-effect warnings on bottles of tylenol, but we are expected to believe someone sticking knives in a women to cut up a baby doesn't have any? A quick search on Lexis doesn't show any indication that there are studies that show this link, however they exist. The fact that they aren't covered is quite telling in my mind.

A quick montage of studies...

Co-Director of the Breast Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center Angela Lanfranchi, MD says:

"It is my professional opinion, based upon my professional training, experience, and my study of the relevant peer-reviewed medical literature, that an overwhelming preponderance of the evidence indicates that induced abortion increases the risk of breast cancer" - Issues in Law & Medicine, Vol 19, No 2, Fall 2003, p 163

The AAPLOG Statement on Induced Abortion and the Subsequent Risk of Breast Cancer says:

"As of March, 2002, there have been published in the world-wide medical literature thirty-seven studies reporting data on the risk of breast cancer among women with a history of induced abortion. Thenty-eight of these studies report increased risk. In the United States, there have been fifteen such studies, thirteen of which reportined increased risk, eight with statistical significance..." - Issues in Law & Medicine, Vol 18, No 2, Fall 2002

Cowley in "Is Abortion a Factor?" says:

"...pooled data from two dozen studies involving 61,000 women in 11 countries. The results aren't comforting. In a paper released last week, the researchers conclude that abortion is a "significant independent risk factor for breast cancer" -- one that raises a woman's lifetime risk by roughly a third..." - Newsweek, Vol 128, Issue 17

It's quite telling about the kind of tactics we are facing there...

The terrorists out there have no compunction about abusing international law to kill people. They have no problem using mosques as military bases then complaining when we hit them. This data should be shown to anyone who complains about US violations of international law in this. They need to know who the real violators are.

From Reuters (http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N22713789.htm):

UN peacekeepers apparently when on a rampage of over 150 incidents of rape, pedophilia, and prostitution in the Congo. Now you know if there was one US soldier caught in bed with a 13 year old, it'd be all over the news, at least it is on Lexis.

Dr. Walter Williams:

"Too many black people are dependent on the Democrats for handouts and racial preferences. Black politicians depend on the Bush haters for financial resources enabling them to gain office. Black civil rights organizations are beholden to liberal foundations. The bottom line of all of this is that he who pays the piper calls the tune and black people dance along.

The attacks on Dr. [Condoleezza] Rice and Gen. [Colin] Powell are the results of one-think where all blacks are to think alike. Any who stray are race traitors. A monopoly on ideas serves no one well and explains why solutions to problems for a large segment of the black community will remain elusive."

The man speaks truth and his thoughts are starting to catch on as more and more blacks see how those who disagree with Democrats are treated in the press.

Wizbang has this from an interview with Rep. Loretta Sanchez a Democrat from California. She admits that the dems lost elections because they no longer control the media...

"SANCHEZ: I agree with Jesse. I agree with my colleague. I believe that we made mistakes. The media certainly is not in our hands any longer, and, in particular, radio talk shows where that is completely in the opposition's hands, and they use it effectively against us."

Now, you COULD read that as saying the GOP media lies, but the plain reading says only media that they control (and not say an indifferent third party) will help them win elections.

Thanks for being honest.

Bouncing the idea around with another conservative, I got to thinking (at his suggestion) that there is something more going on. The school should have known the heat this would generate, as I'm sure they knew in the Pledge case. Question is, why. Well, now that the Neadow case was bounced (rightly) on standing grounds they want to take another pass. (Remember this started in California the first time too). They'll try to force the court to come up with the logical conclusion of their church-state jurisprudence and ban it, or they'll have to realize it is stupid. It'll be interesting to see this play out.

Just for a little more fodder than was in the original article. Gives items that were suppressed that really have no reason to be suppressed in this context. What a joke...

I've thought for sometime with the Euro coming out that it would be used as a competiting currency with the dollar. Not really being fluent in economics in that level I'm not sure how bad it could get, but for sometime other countries have stockpiled dollars and the dollar was the de facto world currency. This indicates that it is changing, but having bad effects for both the US and Europe. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the future, and could start a trend to move to a debt-free government which wouldn't be a bad thing. That really keeps the US sheltered from other nations trying to punish us because we don't play their game, (i.e. turn the other way during the Oil-for-Food scandal, etc).
